Seasoned Pinto Beans

Seasoned Pinto Beans - Danny's BBQ Sauce Recipe


10 lbs.       dry pinto beans
1.0 oz.       red pepper
1.0 oz.       black pepper
1.0 oz.       salt
2.0 oz.       granulated garlic
1 cup         sugar
2 oz.          chili powder
2                ham hocks
2                diced onions
  • Wash pinto beans thoroughly until clean, and allow to soak for several hours
  • Cook beans at a ratio of 10 lbs. of beans to 3 parts water
  • Add all dry ingredients except sugar and chili powder
  • Beans will cook for several hours, stir occasionally and add water as needed
  • Just before beans are done, add sugar and chili powder. Taste and add additional seasoning as needed
  • When done, let beans rest
  • Transfer to large container, and cool down with ice and water
  • Allow to cool for at least 4 hours, and refrigerate

Seasoned pinto beans will serve 200 persons at 3 oz. a serving - Bon Appetit!
